What are the Different SEO Tools?

Numerous tools are available that can help you in your search engine optimization efforts. Here are the main ones:


1. All-in-One Tools

There are tools that do a wide range of things – from keyword research and backlink analysis to competitor analysis – that help marketing professionals and site owners improve rankings in search engine results pages.


  • Ahrefs – This offers different functionalities including keyword research, link building, competitor analysis, and site audit.

  • Moz – This is an SEO and data management tool that contains features such as keyword research, backlink analysis, and site audit.

  • Semrush – Another all-in-one SEO tool is Semrush, which offers different features, including keyword research, competitor analysis, content marketing, PPC, as well as marketing insights.


2. Backlinks

A backlink refers to an article or a page from one website that links to another website. Here are some tools that will help you to check and evaluate link profiles:


  • Majestic – This SEO tool is designed to analyze and check backlinks, providing index- and browser-based analytics and reports.

  • Monitor Backlinks – As the name implies, this SEO tool automatically lets you know any changes to your backlinks – when they are changed or removed.

3. Site Builder/Content Management

You need a site builder or content management system to put your content online. In general, a site builder is an all-in-one platform that makes it easier for you to create a website.

On the other hand, a content management system is designed to enable you to upload, publish, edit, and delete content in a database.

  • WordPress – This is one of the most popular and customizable CMS available. You can build your website depending on the needs of your business.

  • Wix – This free website builder offers hundreds of customizable site templates. It’s user-friendly and has built-in functionalities so you can create a website easily.

  • Squarespace – You can subscribe to this all-in-one CMS where you can make a site and host your content. You can also register your domain name and access your site’s analytics.

4. Admin/Reporting

Administrative and reporting tools gather information and analyze site performance with key metrics. There are several tools available but here are the most common and critical ones:


  • Google Analytics – This platform gathers data and creates reports with key insights about your site’s performance.

  • Google Search Console – Another tool from Google is the Search Console, which helps you keep track of your site’s performance on Google search results. It also helps you find issues and resolve them to improve your site’s rankings.


5. Other Tools

Here are the other SEO tools that can help you in your optimization strategy:


  • Answer the Public – This is a keyword tool that looks at the most frequently asked questions of users to create reports that provide insights on how people search for something online. It can also give you key content opportunities.

  • Crazy Egg – If you want to monitor individual pages of your site and learn where users have clicked, you may want to consider Crazbasically keeps track of how users interact with your site.

  • Plagiarism Checker – You don’t want to have duplicate content on your site. Plagiarism Checker is a tool that scans and compares files against other web pages.

  • Growbots – This is a tool for you if you want to create personalized emails and reach out to a lot of people or businesses to earn backlinks.

  • Yoast – This is a WordPress SEO plugin that is designed to optimize content and keywords.
