What is Internal Linking?

An internal link refers to any link from one page of your website to a different page on the same website. For example, your homepage links to the About Us section or a page about a product or service that you offer.


When it comes to search engine optimization, one of the most important things to do is to have a strong level of internal linking not only for search engines but also for your users.

Here are some things to keep in mind about internal links:

1. There needs to be extensive linking throughout the website

Internal links help users navigate through relevant pages. They should be able to click on anything that you are talking about and that you already have content on.

2. Any article should be filled with links to internal resources that you’ve already created

If you don’t have those articles yet, make sure to write them and place the appropriate links.


3. Internal linking is the most natural way to show users what you’re offering

Every article that brings users to your website contains not only links to other relevant articles or free resources that they can download but also to the products or services that you offer.


With internal linking, you bring users to your website, demonstrate your expertise about the topic, and naturally lead them to what you’re offering.
